Hi, I'm Karena and I've been a Professional Groomer, Grooming Training and Dog Minder since 2006. I've trained many teenagers and mums (no guys as yet, c'mon guys!!) over many years, some going on to careers in salons, setting up their own business or just grooming their own dogs at home.

Grooming is not for everybody, and not everyone knows if they are cut out to be a Dog Groomer. I've found over the years such a huge demand from people wanting to learn to Groom to see if it's something they could in fact do and enjoy, or they have started Grooming and they want to start their own business but don't know how to start. Some people don't want to commit to a full-time course upfront, but still want to dabble with the idea of becoming a Dog Groomer without the outlay of thousands of dollars.
I've been asked many times in the past from Grooming Salons to come in and re-train (or continue training) their Groomers who got their start in a Salon as a junior, after paying thousands of dollars for a one year course, but not one of them could do even the basics well enough or confident enough for a salon environment. Each of those students learnt more with me in 1 week than they ever did in a lengthy one year course. Over the years I've helped Groomers advance their skills in a salon environment, and others I've helped setting up their own business from home.
